A CHILDREN’S BEDROOM DESIGN
Because sometimes it IS all fun and games!
Aliyah’s Bedroom – Child-like Wonder, with Sophisticated Style
Designed for a friend’s young daughter, for this children’s bedroom project, I wanted to blend playful imagination with elevated design. With two distinct mood board concepts—"Sayulita" and "Rainbows"— presented, Aliyah made the final decision, choosing the Rainbow theme. The final space was balanced with youthful charm and sophistication, incorporating quality furnishings from premium retailers like Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Anthropologie, and Wayfair. A custom mural became the centerpiece, tying together the soft palette, curated pieces, and whimsical details. The result was a dreamy, joyful room that delighted both child and parents alike.
Sayulita
Inspired by vibrant Mexican Otomi embroidery, this concept features a bold color palette, a crepe-paper flower mural, and an eclectic mix of textures and throw pillows—creating a joyful, artful space full of personality.
Rainbows
Rooted in Aliyah’s love of rainbows, this concept builds around a refined bedding collection and a playful assortment of furnishings, all unified by a sophisticated dusty rainbow palette that feels both whimsical and elevated.
This detailed floorplan maps out the room’s layout, optimizing space for sleep, study, and play—balancing function and flow while anchoring key design elements.
THE (ALMOST) FINISHED PRODUCT!
The finished room brought the Rainbow concept to life with a playful hand-painted mural, a cozy lofted bed layered in custom rainbow bedding, and a chic built-in desk nook maximizing space—created a warm, whimsical place that’s as functional as it is magical. Every detail feels intentional, blending playful charm with thoughtful sophistication.
